Where is Svalbard?
Svalbard is s a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. It is situated north of Europe about halfway between Norway and the North Pole. The High Arctic landscape features tundra, snow capped mountains, pristine glaciers, extreme light variations and exciting animal life. Seven national parks and twenty-three nature reserves comprise two-thirds of the archipelago and more than half of the landmass is encased in glacial ice. Svalbard is home to polar bears, reindeer, whales, dolphins, seals, walruses, narwhals, and arctic foxes!
