Oslo

I am in Oslo, Norway….where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded annually! Over the past 24 hours I’ve traveled from Seattle to Newark to Oslo. I normally sleep for the entirety of international flights (secret talent) but felt too excited this time!

As I stumbled off the plane in Newark I bumped into my good friend Barney Britton! He was waiting to board the very same plane that I had just stepped off of! There was also an adorable puppy eager for a belly rub. It was the best gate ever! I quickly found my shipmate, National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow Mindy Steele (STEM Specialist, Orange County). After some hugs and hydration we flew to Oslo, Norway.

Once in Oslo, Mindy and I visited the Oslo Opera House and the Vigeland Sculpture Park before meeting our expedition’s underwater specialist Maya Santangelo and National Geographic photographer, Max Siegal.

Tomorrow morning we fly north to Longyearbyen where we will board the National Geographic Explorer.

We are almost there!
