Blue Whale
Her heart is bigger than my car.
Her tongue weighs more than an elephant.
She is 100 feet long….300,000 pounds….and 100 years old.
Today I saw a Blue Whale…the largest animal to ever live on Earth!
My heart was pounding and my mind was spinning.
Why did she choose to surface next to us? Was she as curious about us as we are about her? How long has she been here and what does she know that I never will?
I could taste her salty essence as her exhalation arced 30 feet above us and then hung in the air like mist.
I could sense her enormity.
I felt deep reverence for this ancient being who chose to show herself to me.
